Recently, a critical issue has been identified and assessed by our Property Committee. Stained glass windows in our Parish have been described as in an “advanced state of deterioration” and require immediate attention before the winter weather arrives.
The last many months you have all demonstrated your love for our parish with your response to our increased giving campaign. Your generosity has enabled us to bring and maintain our Diocesan assessments current in addition to our operating costs. We thank you for your generosity.
We are asking you for your generous help to remedy this urgency since our operating accounts are not sufficient to cover these emergency capital repairs. In order to protect our beautiful buildings from additional damage and higher future costs, we need to raise a total of $15,580. We have obtained proposals from a highly reputable company in Great Barrington. $9595 will provide for the safe removal, transport and complete restoration of the most critical upper clerestory window at Notre Dame. $5985 will restore the two panels displaying severe bulging and separation of the lead from the glass on the East Nativity Window at St. Stan’s
Everyone’s ability to step up to this appeal will be different. Fr. Steve simply asks that you prayerfully reflect on what you are able to offer as a special contribution for the Stain Glass repairs. Please make payment to SJP II with notation of “Stain Glass Windows” in the memo field and place the checks in a separate envelope marked “Stain Glass Windows”. With winter fast approaching, we ask that you make contributions at your earliest opportunity. Periodic updates on our progress will be provided and we thank you in advance for your kind generosity!
