The comfort and feel of a hand-knitted blanket or apparel is created by a small group of parishioners who knit and crochet something for everyone from cradle to old age. They knit blankets, caps and sweater sets for premies; Christening blankets for every child baptized in the parish; children slippers that are made available at the Charity Center; chemo-caps for cancer patients undergoing treatment as well as prayer shawls and blankets for them; and lap blankets to warm elderly, shut-ins and nursing home residents.
The knitting is done at home with yarn usually supplied by the knitters themselves but they gladly accept yarn donations. When the knitting is done, they gather on the 3rd Thursday of the month in Kolbe Hall at 11am to package the items and decorate them so that they look like gifts with bows and ribbons.
This group is an extension of the Family Life Committee.
