The parish has at its disposal a picnic pavilion surrounded by two acres of land close to the center of town on Mill Street. The Polanka Grounds were built in 1973 and in its heyday hosted many memorable picnics and polka dance parties. The venue has plenty of potential to host many other events - a flea or craft market, a classic car show or more dance parties. It needs a good idea and some committed people to make it happen.
Currently it needs routine maintenance which requires a small crew to help mow the lawn and weed-whack the edges along the fences. The pavilion also needs some repairs
It can also be rented for private functions. Contact the parish office for more details about renting or to volunteer to help keep the lawn and trees in good shape.
